Group Co-Founded by Facebook CEO Zuckerburg to Help "Dreamers" Pay Application Fees

Yesterday, September 14th, 2017, Reuter’s reported that FWD.us, a pro-immigration group co-founded by Facebook Inc. CEO Mark Zuckerburg, is raising funds to help “dreamers” pay the application fees associated with maintaining their protected status. “Dreamers” are undocumented immigrants who arrived in the United States through no fault of their own and who are pursuing some form of education in the United States. These young people have been protected from deportation under the DACA program (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) since the program was created by an executive order issued by President Obama in 2012. Recently, President Trump announced the winding down of DACA over the next six months and has set a deadline of October 5th for some beneficiaries to renew their protected status. The application for the program currently costs $495 and FWD.us has pledged to help dreamers pay this “extraordinary and unexpected expense.”
