Asylum and humanitarian parole for Ukrainians

Considering the devastating conflict in Ukraine, David F. Vedder P.A. recognizes an urgent need to assist Ukrainians already in the U.S. who need to acquire status and assist Ukrainians outside the U.S. to enter the U.S. lawfully. In connection with those stated objectives, the Attorneys of David F. Vedder P.A. will process Asylum applications and Humanitarian Parole applications.

Asylum

Asylum applications are based on persecution due to:

  • Race
  • Religion
  • Nationality
  • Membership in a particular social group
  • Political opinion

Asylum applications should be filed within a year of your arrival to the U.S. You may include your spouse and children (under 21 and unmarried) in your application. We would also file for your employment authorization 365 days after your asylum application.

Humanitarian Parole

Ukrainian nationals outside the U.S. may apply for humanitarian parole. One may qualify for humanitarian parole if there is a compelling emergency and an urgent humanitarian reason or significant public benefit to allowing the temporary entry into the U.S.

Those granted parole may request employment authorization after being paroled into the U.S. by filing for work authorization.
